US Lawmaker Bhojani Expresses Interest in Promoting Nepal's Tourism

Kathmandu: Salman Bhojani, a Texas State lawmaker in the United States, has expressed a strong interest in promoting tourism in Nepal. During his first visit to Nepal, Bhojani conveyed his deep affection for Nepal and its people and expressed his commitment to actively support tourism promotion and engage with the Nepali community.

"I'm overwhelmed with boundless joy upon my arrival in Nepal," Bhojani shared during an interaction before embarking on a journey to the Mt. Everest base camp. He attributed his visit to the assistance and support of the Nepali community in the United States and pledged to maintain his goodwill toward Nepal.

Salman Bhojani, the first Muslim lawmaker of Pakistani origin in Texas State, USA, is well-known and respected among the Nepali community in Texas. During his election campaign, he visited the Nepali community wearing traditional Nepali attire, including a dhaka cap and daura suruwal, and even communicated in the Nepali language.

Recognizing the potential of Nepal's natural beauty and culture, Bhojani expressed his belief that tourism could significantly contribute to Nepal's economic prosperity. He highlighted Nepal's prestigious heritage sites such as Mt. Everest, Pashupatinath, and Lumbini.

Bhojani's life journey from working at a gas station in 2003 to becoming a Texas lawmaker and attorney is an inspirational story of determination and success. Despite numerous challenges, he continued his education and has now achieved significant success in his professional and political career.

He pledged to continue visiting Nepal with his family to promote tourism and contribute to sustainable peace and development. In Texas, he has been actively involved with the Nepali community, supporting initiatives such as Nepal Day and advocating for the recognition of Nepali festivals as public holidays in Texas.

During the interaction, an animated child's song related to Nepali tourism, titled 'Nepal Herna Jauun,' was also unveiled. The song aims to promote tourism in Nepal, and participants expressed hope that it would contribute to attracting more visitors to the country.

The program was organized by Mission Entertainment and Nepal Centre International, with coordination from Roger Nepal from the USA and BP Wagle from Nepal.



New
